I definitely love this app. I cant use normal wallpapers anymore haha. But in all seriousness, this really is an impressive application. First off, its one of those applications that you can either make the most of or not at all...its all what you put into it. 2ndly, the controls are very simple and understandable. But here is one thing to realize that I didnt when I first ran it...it functions slightly differently from most apps. When you run the program for the first time, a new icon will be added to the top right (where the volume, wifi gauge, date & time, battery life, etc. is). This icon looks like a piece of film. After the initial run from the dock (as you would safari), all the functions will be controlled by that film icon on the top right.
Not only can u use the stock animated wallpapers they offer (and get more from them too), BUT the best part is you can use virtually any video you have (provided it is a quicktime file [aka ".mov") as a background. Also, in addition, if that movie has sound, you can have it play with it or not...theres a volume control for that. My computer runs completely smooth with no lag or decrease in performance. Keep this in mind though, if the video you have has a small screen size, then the wallpaper will look fuzzy cuz it has to make up for lacking pixels (and thats not the applications fault, thats just a general rule of computer pixels)...but if the movie has a good decent screen size, no quality drop whatsoever.
There are 3 basic modes:
1. using their stock animated wallpapers (they are pretty cool, but nothing "WOW" except that they move haha)
2. a projection of your itunes album covers and they randomly switchout (its amassed in a huge checkerboard format)
3. and animated wallpaper using your ".mov" video files (.wmv is not supported), and that movie will continue to loop.
The only problem to keep aware. A video that is about 5 minutes and 30 seconds long and beyond may have problems looping. Shorter than that and it loops fine. In fact, the movie file im currently running is about 1:30 - 2 minutes long give or take some. EDIT: I have run a 4 minute video just fine (I checked the vidoes I have used). Its at the 5:30 that I had looping problems.
